Martin tries to stop missile defence speculation

Prime Minister Paul Martin tried Friday to clamp the lid on swirling reports that his government has decided to support a U.S. missile defence shield. Mr. Martin, in Washington for his first bilateral meetings with the U.S. President, insisted that his government had made no such decision and said that Canada is determined to secure a seat at the planning table primarily to ensure that the program doesn't lead to space-based weapons.
